12 weeks pregnant, or 10 weeks after conception: nerve cells multiply

At 12 weeks, your baby is approximately 61 millimetres long and weighs approximately 14 grammes. The face is more developed, and the nails are starting to grow. The vital organs are now all partially formed, and the nerve cells are multiplying, as are the synaptic connections, already resulting in several reflexes in the foetus.
The amniotic sac, fetus and amniotic fluid are now clearly visible on an ultrasound. Your baby is fully formed and is often very active, even if you cannot yet feel his or her movements. At 12 weeks, the risk of miscarriage is greatly reduced, making this an ideal time to announce your pregnancy to your loved ones.
